Investing in Therapy

Participating in psychological therapy involves an investment of time, energy, and money. In addition, to the visits you make you may be asked to consider spending time between sessions to address your concerns in specific ways. Sometimes this will require a change in how and when you do things. Making the effort requires energy. We all get comfortable in patterns of behavior even though they may not be working for us. Energy to do so comes from an ability to understand the underlying value of the changes you want to make and tackling any problems of confidence in achieving them. Dr Luz will seek to assist you in this process if there is uncertainty when you come to my office. Lastly, services cost money in the form of deductibles, co-pay and full fees You have to consider how much you can spend on this process. In doing so consider the benefits you will accrue as result and the value you place on them. The benefits established for psychological services include:

  1. An increased sense of emotional well-being.
  2. Increase capacity for resilience in the face of stress.
  3. Better sleep and improved health habits
  4. Improved marriage, family and social relationships
  5. Improved productivity at work or school.
